Update on the planned dinner at Peller Estates, and plans for the spring lunch
GREAT NEWS from Peller Estates!

Responding to the fact that some people in our party are not wine drinkers, Peller Estates Winery is separating the cost for dinner from the wine pairing (but will still provide suggestions for wine pairing with our meal). They are setting up a "Cash Bar" for us so everyone can buy whatever beverages they want. As a result, the cost will now be $107 (including gratuity) and Vic will be providing refunds for the cost associated with ‘wine pairing’ ($35 pp).

The winery tour/wine sampling/light snacks is also optional but Georgia at Peller Estates is recommending that everyone attend this part even if they don’t take part in the wine tasting. She believes you will find the tour very interesting and informative on how a winery works and how wines are made. The cost for going on the tour only is $15 pp and is already included in the cost noted above.

It’s not too late to let us know that you want to attend either the Peller Estates Winery supper or the Thursday evening supper at the Aberfoyle Mill Restaurant. Unlike the last reunion dinner at the UofW where we were few among many, this will be us only!! If there are guys you want to see and talk to that you haven’t seen in a while, this is the time and place to do it. And as you will see from the list below, there are people coming that we haven’t seen since graduation!! If there is someone you would like to connect with that is not on the list – give them a call or drop them an email to encourage them to come out and join the party. After all, this presents a great opportunity to catch up after 47 years!

Peller Estates insisted on us signing a contract to hold this event and they have a strict cancellation policy. But they are prepared to extend us some flexibility - if in the next couple of weeks some people want to participate that haven’t committed yet. Please let us know as soon as possible if you wish to attend AND provide Vic with a deposit of $107 per person.

So far, the attendees for the Peller event are:

Vic and Barbara Shantora
Tim and Tom Little
Doug and Dorothy Deeth
Russ and Chris Dickinson
Aldo Donnarumma
Gerry Garber and Cora
Dave and Jan Harris
Oiva and Helen Laine
Miles and Linda Lauzon
Ross and Brenda MacDonald
Frank and Barbara Papp
Al and Betty Soligo
Bob and Fran Taylor
Paul and Marg Webert

Don’t forget about Thursday night at the Aberfoyle Inn. If you have not got this on your calendar then you are going to miss seeing some classmates that unfortunately cannot attend the Peller Estates event. Also, this is your chance to have a little extra time to talk with classmates that you may not have seen for many years.

So far, the attendees for the Aberfoyle Dinner are:
Vic and Barb Shantora
Tim and Tom Little
Oiva and Helen Laine
George and Diane Newberry
Dave and Brenda Parsons
Ken and Agnes Rossel
The reunion weekend good times just keeps on coming!

In addition to the Thursday and Friday night events, Frank and Barb Papp are hosting a get together at their place on Saturday afternoon. The final details are yet to be worked out but you will want to be there! So be sure to include this in your plans and let us know that you can join us.

Chem Eng Semi-Annual Lunch on April 26.

We have a reservation for noon at the Aberfoyle Inn on Brock Rd. (Old Hwy 6 north). A number of people have indicated that they are coming so we hope you will be there as
well. If you have not confirmed your attendance, please let us know so we can tell the restaurant how many to plan for.

Russ Dickinson sent me a note recently inquiring about hairlines and waistlines. I’m not sure what he had in mind but I will bring along a tape measure just in case…Finally, can you believe that we are only 6 months away from our reunion weekend? As we get older, time goes by quicker so don’t delay in making that decision to be there. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and having a fantastic time.

In the meantime, keep well.

Vic & Tom
