Spring 2023 Lunch
We are proposing to hold the next lunch on Wednesday May 10, 2023. Please mark that date on your calendar. As has become the routine, wives and sig others are welcome and encouraged to attend.
In the meantime, anyone who is planning a visit to the GTA from the nether regions, please let us know so we can arrange an impromptu lunch.
Class of 1970 Chemical Engineering Scholarship.
The 2022-23 recipient is Aidan Dobson who is a 1A student in Chemical Engineering. More details about our recipient to follow later.
As Bob reported recently, the scholarship fund continues to grow! Year-end is coming up fast so now is an opportune time to consider a contribution to the scholarship fund in your tax planning for 2022.
Other Items!
The May 2022 issue of the UofW Alumni e-Newsletter brought forward a memory of the on-campus protests against the Vietnam war and in particular the ‘burn the dog with napalm ’ incident. You may recall it and if you do not check out this link
My recollection is that a bunch of engineering students showed up at the appointed time and place and were ready to punch out anyone that attempted to harm the dog. Other recollections??
Don’t forget to visit the class homepage that Doug Deeth set up at: www.chemeng70.deeth.ca Doug is always looking for new material to post there so feel free to make a contribution!
A Rare Sighting
Al Soligo and Vic Shantora playing at a ‘Hallowe’en Gig’ with their old timers R&R band, The Greytones. Al does the lead vocals normally with 2 ladies but there is only one on this occasion.

Stay safe, enjoy your travels and we hope to see you at the spring lunch…
