Update on 2022 Fall lunch and the scholarship fund, and plans for the 50th anniversary (delayed) in 2020.
Hi guys,
Here is an update to cover recent activities including the fall lunch.
As usual, there was a good turnout at the fall lunch – 13 guys & 9 ladies attended. Here is the traditional mug shot:
[picture to be added.
Sorry, no pictures of the ladies this time around – apparently someone forgot to load an SD card into their camera.
Bob Taylor gave an update on the University luncheon he attended related to the Class of ’70 scholarship fund. Apparently, this approach to scholarship funding is being well received and appreciated by the University, and of course by the student, Sean Ashley, who is the first recipient. Bob just recently received the following fund status update from the Prachi Surti at
the University:
“I am sending you the fund update for your records. Feel free to share it with your
classmates as well. As of today, we have raised $26115.52 out of which $8000 is the
outstanding pledge balance and we have spent $1000 for the first scholarship.”
As a reminder, if you wish to contribute to the scholarship fund but haven’t gotten around to it yet, it’s not too late to make your contribution on-line and receive a tax receipt for 2019 as long as you do it before the end of this month.. Here is the link
Designation: Other Fund
Enter Fund Name: Class of ’70 Chemical Engineering Scholarship
We will be providing further updates on arrangements for the 5’th reunion (June 5-7, 2020) in the next while but as a reminder, here is the current list of people planning to attend:
Fred & Ruth Alexander
Bob & Lynn Allen
Brian Blackwell
Doug & Dorothy Deeth
Aldo Donnarumma
Gerry & Cora Garber
Dave & Jan Harris
Lanny & Sylvia Harris
Oiva & Helen Laine
Miles & Linda Lauzon
Tom & Timmy Little
Ross & Brenda MacDonald
George & Diane Newberry
Frank & Barb Papp
Vic & Barbara Shantora

We are always looking to encourage more people to come out – after all this is the BIG FIVE-0. So, if you haven’t committed yet, give this some serious thought and move this to #1 on your bucket list!! We want to hear from everyone. It would be nice to have a record attendance for this event.
All Best Wishes for the Holiday Season to you and yours…
Tom & Vic
